3: Red Ditty Books

Once children are securing with reading the Photocopy Ditty sheets, they are reading to move on to Red Ditty books.

The children review the Set 1 Sounds, to ensure they can still read them speedily. They learn to read words with 4 or 5 sounds in them (Word Time 1.6 and 1.7). They continue with Word Times 1.1 to 1.4 and also start to read 3 or 4 sound nonsense words. They spell using Fred Fingers.
