EYFS Home Schooling Pick and Mix Activities
During the Coronavirus outbreak, please use the pack given to your child to support home learning as well as accessing the Pick and Mix activities below. Please don't forget to share anything you can on Tapestry so that Mrs Hockin and Miss Sweetman can keep in touch with you all.
Remember, learning at home will not be as structured as it is at school and please do not put yourselves under any additional pressure to make it this way. Having a structure to your home schooling time in the day will help you and your child achieve in a positive way. There are a number of ways which you could try;
- Some families are doing home learning in the morning and then allowing children to play and explore in the afternoons (giving them as parents time then to focus on their work)
- Others are doing it the opposite way around.
- Some are even doing home learning for a couple hours in the morning and then again for an hour in the afternoon, breaking the time up.
There is no right or wrong way to do this. It has to fit in with your family life and work commitments.
It is also important to remember that EYFS children need time to just 'be', in the same way they do at school during their independent learning time. They need time to follow their interests and choices. Haivng time to play with lego or to play in the garden is great and will still be contributing to their learning and development.
If you have any questions or concerns, please use Tapestry as a way of sending Mrs Hockin or Miss Sweetman a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
We hope you are all staying safe and look forward to seeing you all soon.
